About Ellie Mae (in Foster)

I first checked into the HSHC in March because the other cat in my home had epilepsy, and those seizures caused me no end of stress. I was overgrooming, pulling out my hair to the point of going bald. My owners noticed that I always hid when there was a lot of activity in the home. So we all decided I needed to find a quieter home. I am now 9-years-old and already spayed. Because the shelter atmosphere was not calm enough, I moved into a foster home in early June. My foster mom indeed let me take all the time I needed to feel comfortable and settled. She reported the following positive comments about me. "Ellie Mae is still easily scared, especially by sudden or unexpected movements or if we are standing up near her (as opposed to on the floor). However, when my husband is there, she will walk up to him and request pets by putting her paw on his arm, head-butting or licking his hand, and then purring nonstop. Ellie LOVES having her neck and back scratched and will even roll onto her side and make air biscuits while you do it. She is not so enamored with me. She is gradually learning to tolerate our cats. Ellie is hesitant to explore the house very far. Her most comfortable hiding place is behind a box in her room. She adores cat treats!"
Given these lovely observations about me, you know that when I feel comfortable, I become a charmer. I will be most successful in my new home if everyone is 13 or older. I am excited to meet you! When may I expect you? 12-2-24

Not Quite Ready To Adopt?
You can make an immeasurable impact by opening your home and your heart to an animal in need. Fostering is a great opportunity to introduce a pet into your home without making a lifelong commitment. Many of our foster humans end up adopting their fostered animals, but many also choose to just provide the temporary shelter and love our animals need to get through a trying time.
