Description Lucy
Lucy's Compatibility:

Kids – Most comfortable in a calm home with kids 12+

Meet Lucy: gentle soul, yard enthusiast, and self-appointed queen of peace and quiet. Lucy is a 5-year-old Anatolian Shepherd mix who thrives in calm, low-stress environments where she can enjoy the simple things-like lounging in the sun or quietly following her favorite person from room to room. She's housebroken, non-destructive, and has wonderful manners when left alone in the home.

Lucy prefers to take her time when it comes to making new friends. She's a sensitive girl who values her space and needs patient adopters who understand that trust is earned, not rushed. Once she feels safe, Lucy is affectionate and loyal, with a charming habit of "talking" to you in her own quiet, grumbly way.

Lucy does best with older kids who can respect her boundaries-young, unpredictable energy makes her anxious. She recently lived in a home with a toddler and made it clear that tiny humans are not her comfort zone, so she's hoping for a home with older children or adults only.

Crates are not Lucy's favorite, but she does beautifully when given space to roam or nap in a quiet room. She loves the outdoors and would be happiest with a securely fenced yard where she can spend time sniffing, exploring, and decompressing in her own way.

Lucy is a gentle, thoughtful companion who just wants to feel safe and understood. If your home is peaceful, your heart is patient, and your backyard is sunny, Lucy might just be the perfect fit.

Not Quite Ready To Adopt?

You can make an immeasurable impact by opening your home and your heart to an animal in need. Fostering is a great opportunity to introduce a pet into your home without making a lifelong commitment. Many of our foster humans end up adopting their fostered animals, but many also choose to just provide the temporary shelter and love our animals need to get through a trying time.
