Fetch queen. Couch snuggler. Personal space enthusiast. That's Lola in a nutshell! This beautiful shepherd mix has a big personality and even bigger feelings. She's housebroken, crate trained, and has mastered the art of the side-eye when you're slacking on belly rubs.

Her perfect day? A few rounds of fetch, a stroll around the neighborhood (she walks with purpose), then curling up next to her person on the couch like the emotionally supportive shadow she was born to be. Lola lives for quality time, and once you're in her circle, you're in for life. Lola's worked with a trainer and knows her basics. She's smart, sensitive, and loyal, with a solid sense of what she wants out of life. What she doesn't want: chaos, pushy dogs, or surprise guests who don't respect her space.

She's a little selective about her dog friends-respect her vibe and she may be open to a canine companion. We're happy to facilitate a meet and greet here at the shelter to ensure it's a good match! She hasn't been tested with cats yet, and she's asking for a home with older teens who understand that loud energy and unfamiliar faces can be a little much.

If you're a homebody with a soft spot for confident dogs who know their worth, Lola's waiting to meet you!

Important Notice: A “meet and greet” with any existing dogs in your home is required, supervised by our team in our play areas. We encourage bringing your family and current dogs, especially if traveling from afar. Cats are not required for a meet and greet.

Adoption Hours: Daily 12-5PM, closed Wednesdays. No appointment needed, unless the dog or cat is in foster! Apply and then call us at 317-773-4974 to set up a meet and greet with an pet in foster care.

Not Quite Ready To Adopt?

You can make an immeasurable impact by opening your home and your heart to an animal in need. Fostering is a great opportunity to introduce a pet into your home without making a lifelong commitment. Many of our foster humans end up adopting their fostered animals, but many also choose to just provide the temporary shelter and love our animals need to get through a trying time.
