About Ford Ruff (in Foster)

Dogs – Yes!
Cats – Not for Ford Ruff
Kids – Yes, 12+
Ford Ruff is a big-hearted, big-headed couch potato looking for a home to call his own! This happy, social pit mix has mastered the art of lounging, playing, and stealing hearts. He's been a fantastic guest in his foster home, but he's ready to settle down with a family who will love him forever.
Fordy is a low-key guy most of the time, spending about 95% of his day snoozing, lounging, or seeking out the perfect comfy spot. But don't let his laid-back nature fool you-he still has a playful streak! He loves tug-of-war, de-stuffing his toys, and bringing them to his human with a playful little grumble that means, "Let's go!"
He does well with larger dogs who enjoy a good rough-and-tumble play session but would also be just as happy soaking up all the attention as the only dog in the home. Cats, however, are a no-go for Ford-he fancies himself a squirrel hunter and would prefer a home without feline friends.
Ford walks well on a leash but is a strong boy who gets excited when he sees other dogs-he's working on his greetings and would love an adopter who can continue helping him with leash manners. He takes treats like a gentleman, is house-trained, and adores people.
Ford has lived with kids before and would likely do best in a home with older, respectful children who understand dog body language.
If a couch potato with a playful side sounds like your kind of dog, Ford Ruff is ready to take over your sofa-and your heart!

Not Quite Ready To Adopt?
You can make an immeasurable impact by opening your home and your heart to an animal in need. Fostering is a great opportunity to introduce a pet into your home without making a lifelong commitment. Many of our foster humans end up adopting their fostered animals, but many also choose to just provide the temporary shelter and love our animals need to get through a trying time.
