About Pria

I'm gonna level with you. You may have heard that Tortoiseshell cats are opinionated and vain. This is just not true. Yes, I am a beautiful lady cat with a longhaired blend of orange and black, with jade-colored eyes. But I am not conceited; I'm just honest. I was a stray 1-year-old when I was brought to the HSHC in 2018. I was soon adopted and lived with my owner for seven years before they moved and brought me back to the shelter on May 17. In this home, I was best friends with their Corgi. We played, chased each other, and relaxed together. I thought I was a dog! I was also pals with the older teenagers in the home. I am mad about playing with all balls, tennis, fabric, jingly, or bouncy. Another passion is getting a massage from an electric massager. Oh, and I love all flavors of Temptations, and catnip is a treat (but it does make me hyper!) I love sitting in your lap and won't move unless you make me leave. However, please do not pet me past my shoulders. It freaks me out! I gave the interviewer lady (IL) headbutts when she began rubbing my head and chin. I couldn't help but purr from the pleasure. The Feline Care Specialists feel it will take me quite a while to get accustomed to a new owner and home because I do not enjoy changes in my life. Having a small space with everything I need will provide me with a safe place to slowly acclimate to your household. By the way, I have only lived with one cat, and I couldn't stand to be anywhere near her. I look forward to hearing from those folks who love gorgeous Torties! 6-4-25

Not Quite Ready To Adopt?
You can make an immeasurable impact by opening your home and your heart to an animal in need. Fostering is a great opportunity to introduce a pet into your home without making a lifelong commitment. Many of our foster humans end up adopting their fostered animals, but many also choose to just provide the temporary shelter and love our animals need to get through a trying time.
