My brother Thor and I had a strong sense of Deja vu on March 18 when we were brought to the HSHC to be surrendered. After all, we were just tiny stray kittens when we first checked into the shelter back in September 2016. Our owner adopted us a week later, and we lived with our family for almost 10 years. Thor and I are now 9 years, 8 months old. We don't look alike, though we're brothers. Thor is a handsome orange-and-white DSH Tabby. I'm a black-and-white DSH Tuxedo. We're both on the chubby side: I weigh 20.18 pounds, and Thor is 14.7 pounds. Our family made sure we never went hungry! As a side note, I was called Desmond, and Thor was Kieran as babies. Aside from our portliness, we are healthy fellows. We are both neutered and litter-box-savvy. However, we do prefer a clean litter box. We were surrendered back to HSHC because the new baby was allergic to us. We can't complain about that. We always did well with young children. We tolerate being picked up, but don't like being carried. I'd say I am slightly more outgoing and willing to be affectionate, but Thor is more playful than I am. He is jazzed at the sight of those fishing pole/wand toys. We lived with three dogs and tolerated them well, though we mostly felt indifferent toward them. Like most cats, we may take our time getting to know new people, but once we do, we're happy to socialize. We are passionate window watchers and love spotting birds, squirrels, and anything that moves. I think we are a terrific pair of cats-friendly and easy-going. The interviewer lady (IL) agrees. Whenever she entered our Roaming Room, I (Charlie Horse) ran over for pets, rubbed her legs, and chirped. Thor looked up, sniffed her, and nudged her hand for attention. If you are looking for a pair of friendly, easy-going cats to join your home, we would love to meet you! Thor and I (Charlie Horse) hope you'll consider adopting us and giving us a new family to love. Please reach out to HSHC if you are interested-we can't wait to start our next adventure! 4-1-26

Not Quite Ready To Adopt?
You can make an immeasurable impact by opening your home and your heart to an animal in need. Fostering is a great opportunity to introduce a pet into your home without making a lifelong commitment. Many of our foster humans end up adopting their fostered animals, but many also choose to just provide the temporary shelter and love our animals need to get through a trying time.
