Introducing-well, actually, reintroducing-Johnny Appleseed! After eight years of adventures and love with his family, he's now back at HSHC through no fault of his own, as his owners are moving and unable to bring him along. It's an emotional return for everyone, but Johnny's ready to find someone new to cuddle up with!
Johnny Appleseed is an experienced snuggle buddy-fully house-trained, affectionate, and a true couch enthusiast. His perfect day involves plenty of naps, car rides (he LOVES them), and cozy evenings snoozing by your side. He's shared his home happily with respectful kids and canine companions.
Johnny thrives with gentle handling and introductions at his own pace. He appreciates friends who respect his space and take things slowly, allowing his sweet personality to shine through. He's happiest with someone who's around often and can offer companionship, comfort, and plenty of cozy downtime.
Johnny Appleseed deserves another chance at a forever home. If you're patient, kind, and looking for a loving companion who believes laps come in all sizes, Johnny might be your perfect match!

Adoption Fees & Benefits:
Under 1 year: $200
1-4 years: $100
5-9 years: $55
10+ years: $35
Fees include: Heartworm test (age appropriate), vaccinations, flea/tick preventative, complimentary bag of food, wellness exam, and rabies vaccine.
Important Notice: A "meet and greet" with any existing dogs in your home is required, supervised by our team in our play areas. We encourage bringing your family and current pets, especially if traveling from afar.
Adoption Hours: Open daily at 12 PM, except Wednesdays. No appointment needed!

Adoption Hours: Daily 12-5PM, closed Wednesdays. No appointment needed, unless the dog or cat is in foster! Apply and then call us at 317-773-4974 to set up a meet and greet with an pet in foster care.
Dog Adoption Fees:
- Under 1 year: $200
- 1-4 years: $100
- 5-9 years: $55
- 10+ years: $35
*The non-refundable hold fee is $40.

Not Quite Ready To Adopt?
You can make an immeasurable impact by opening your home and your heart to an animal in need. Fostering is a great opportunity to introduce a pet into your home without making a lifelong commitment. Many of our foster humans end up adopting their fostered animals, but many also choose to just provide the temporary shelter and love our animals need to get through a trying time.
