About Sammy (in Foster)

Dogs – Meet & Greet
Cats – Sammy says feline-free is the way to be
Kids – Yes
Meet Sammy, a senior pup with a heart as big as his personality! At 38 pounds, he's just the right size for cozying up on the couch after a day of fun. Sammy is incredibly smart and food-motivated, making him a great candidate for learning new tricks or just keeping life interesting. He's also got a flair for fashion-he loves getting dressed up, which only adds to his charm!
Sammy is protective and deeply loyal to his people. While he can be slow to warm up to new faces, especially men, once he trusts you, he loves with his whole heart. He's had great interactions with kids in the past and thrives with clear boundaries and a confident handler. Walks are one of his favorite activities, though he does best in low-traffic areas where he can stay focused on enjoying the scenery.
Like many seniors, Sammy has a few quirks-he's got a knack for turning plush toys into confetti, prefers nylabones stay off the menu, and has occasional front-door excitement. But these are just part of his unique personality! He's housebroken, well-mannered, and ready for a home that will celebrate his individuality.
Sammy's ideal family will be experienced dog lovers who can appreciate his big feelings and offer the structure he thrives on. With patience, love, and understanding, Sammy promises to be a devoted companion who will bring joy, laughter, and loyalty to your life.
If you're ready to welcome a senior dog with plenty of personality and love to give, come meet Sammy. He's waiting for the perfect family to share his golden years with!

Not Quite Ready To Adopt?
You can make an immeasurable impact by opening your home and your heart to an animal in need. Fostering is a great opportunity to introduce a pet into your home without making a lifelong commitment. Many of our foster humans end up adopting their fostered animals, but many also choose to just provide the temporary shelter and love our animals need to get through a trying time.
