About Kaiko (in Foster)

Hello, cat seeker! To cut to the chase, I'm looking for a person who does not mind if I prefer their company to all others. Let me explain why I am what I am. When I was two months old, my owner abandoned me. I ended up at HSHC, where I was soon adopted. I lived with my owner and his wife for twelve years. I quickly grew attached to my owner but chose to avoid his wife. The same goes for the home's grandchildren, visitors, and other cats. I can't help it; I am a one-person cat. If you are this special person, I will show you my undying love, cuddles, sitting on your lap, wanting to be near you, and relishing all the pets and scratches you give me. I used to rub all over my owner's face and neck for attention. He would gently stroke me from the head to the tail for about 45 minutes, and then I'd lay down and nap at his feet. To other people, animals, and kids, I run away and hide, hiss, yowl, swat, or nip. Loyal is my middle name. At some point, my owners had all four of my paws declawed! Whoa! I recently had surgery to remove very painful bone fragments. Since arriving at HSHC on February 11, I have been on my best behavior. I am a handsome brown Tabby with patches of white on my coat and big green eyes. When I initially move in with you, I may act up a little until I learn to trust and love you. Therefore, I will need a gradual introduction to the house and its people. I told the interviewer lady (IL) that I enjoyed her pets and ear rubs and would love to spend more time with her. The HSHC recommends that I go to an adult-only, cat-free home. I can't wait to meet you! 4-13-25

Not Quite Ready To Adopt?
You can make an immeasurable impact by opening your home and your heart to an animal in need. Fostering is a great opportunity to introduce a pet into your home without making a lifelong commitment. Many of our foster humans end up adopting their fostered animals, but many also choose to just provide the temporary shelter and love our animals need to get through a trying time.
