Spay/Neuter Program for 2008
NOBLESVILLE, Ind., February 2, 2008 –The Humane Society
for Hamilton County announced today that they will be
spaying or neutering all adopted pets prior to their
adoptive families taking them home in lieu of providing a
spay/neuter certificate at the point of adoption.

Maddie’s Fund announces Humane Society for Hamilton
County a top winner in their national marketing competition
Noblesville, Ind., January 21, 2008 – The Humane Society
for Hamilton County (HSHC) has been named a top winner in a
national marketing contest hosted by Maddie’s Fund. The
winners were announced January 21st. HSHC competed among 195
rescue groups, traditional shelters, animal control agencies
and adoption guarantee shelters across the country.

$20,000

NOBLESVILLE, Ind., November 27, 2007 –
$20,000 was awarded to The Humane Society for Hamilton
County by the Hirst Family Charitable Fund, a fund of Legacy
Fund Community Foundation. The grant was distributed for
general use and will help fund the daily operation of the
shelter such as medical supplies, veterinary care, basic

Humane Society for Hamilton County (HSHC) is leashing up for
the fifth annual Puppy Pool-ooza from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.,
Sept. 29 at Forest Park Aquatic Center in Noblesville, Ind.
Dog owners are invited to bring their canine best friend for
a day of splashing and socializing. The center is located

Indiana State Championship Chili
Cookoff
Benefiting The Humane Society for Hamilton County
Noblesville, Ind., Sept. 12, 2007 – A
statewide Chili Cook-off will be held at 12pm on Saturday,
Sept. 22nd at the Westfield Town Hall, 130 Penn St.,
Westfield, Indiana.
The event is open to the public with a $5
admission to taste the Chili. Each paid admission gets five
voting tickets for the People’s Choice Chili. The team with
the most votes from the public will win a trophy.

Plans move into new $2.3 million shelter
Noblesville, Ind., Oct. 5, 2006 – Starting
Monday, October 16th, the HSHC will begin its move to a
brand new $2.3 million facility located at 1721 Pleasant
Street. The move is anticipated to take three days with the
nearly 300 animals currently housed at the Cumberland Road
location making their transition on Tuesday and Wednesday of

A Lasting Donation
Tree of Life honors gifts to Humane
Society for Hamilton County
Donations – both monetary and in-kind – are essential to
continuing the financial health of the Humane Society for
Hamilton County (HSHC).
Recognizing this fact, the HSHC recently established a
“Tree of Life” mural in the shelter’s lobby that honors
those who donate $150 or more. For each donation, a leaf
will be painted onto the mural with the donor’s name. Leaves
range from gold to platinum depending on the donation amount
and may also be dedicated in memory of a loved one or pet.
