Wine, Wags & Whiskers – A
Fundraising Event for the
Humane Society for Hamilton County
Noblesville, Ind., February 28, 2011 – On
March 11, 2011, the public is invited to taste more
than 40 fine wines, enjoy hors d’oeuvres, mingle
with adoptable pets, and listen to live music by
Jennie DeVoe in support the Humane Society for
Hamilton County’s (HSHC) homeless, abandoned or
injured pets.
“Our shelter, like most in this economy, is facing a
financial strain as we take in an overwhelming
amount of dogs and cats on a daily basis,” says HSHC
Executive Director Rebecca Stevens. “Wine, Wags &
Whiskers was created to help raise money for the
daily care and medical costs of these precious
animals.”
In 2010, HSHC took in more than 3,400 animals. HSHC
cares for sick and injured animals, spays and
neuters all adopted animals, and does not euthanize
animals for space or arbitrary time restrictions.
Wine, Wags & Whiskers has a fundraising goal of
$25,000.
The event will include a silent auction with a wide
variety of item including vacations, golf packages,
celebrity memorabilia, and much more. Also, there
will be a raffle for a 0.75ct. loose round brilliant
diamond that appraises at $4,500 donated by Master
Jewelers. (Gaming License 123291)
Tickets to Wine, Wags & Whiskers are available
online at
www.HamiltonHumane.com for just $55 per
person in advance, or $65 at the door. The event
starts at 6:30 p.m. The event is presented by Crown
Liquors, Fibertech Networks and Master Jewelers.
If you are unable to make the event, but are
interested in helping HSHC, there are many
opportunities to do so. These include making a
charitable contribution, donating much needed items
such as paper towels, trash bags and liquid laundry
detergent; fostering a shelter animal in need; or
volunteering at the shelter or at special events.
Opportunities are listed on the HSHC website,
www.HamiltonHumane.com.

About the Humane Society for Hamilton County
The Humane Society for Hamilton County (HSHC) is a
non-profit 501 (c)(3) charitable organization. It
is not a United Way Agency, and is not affiliated
with any other animal welfare group in the United
States. The HSHC also serves as the animal control
facility for Hamilton County, and, as such, receives
partial funding from Hamilton County. The majority
of the HSHC budget is funded by private donors. The
HSHC will not euthanize animals for space and time,
and will treat sick and injured animals if there’s
an outlook for recovery and a high quality of life.
Many animals are hit-by-car injured,
heartworm-positive, malnourished, or otherwise
wounded and/or sick. The HSHC will provide most of
these animals with life-saving treatments, surgeries
and medications as their best chance for a second
chance and until they are placed into forever
homes.
