The Humane Society for Hamilton County Announces Woofstock ‘08!
An all-in-one benefit concert, dog walk, and pet talent contest

Noblesville, Ind., May 4, 2008– VCA Animal Hospitals and Q95 present the first annual “Woofstock ‘08”, a fundraising event for the Humane Society for Hamilton County to be held on Saturday, June 7th from 11am-3pm at Verizon Wireless Music Center. The Why Store, one of Indianapolis’ most popular rock-alternative bands best known for their successful single, Lack of Water, will take the stage at 12pm. Opening for The Why Store is Chicago-based acoustic artist, David Kav. Come out and meet our special guests Rupert Boneham, competitor from the CBS hit reality series Survivor, and event emcee Laura Steele, radio personality from Q95.

Do you think your pooch could be the next American Idol? Perhaps Fido has a special trick up his furry sleeve? Well whether your dog can count, sing, dance, jump through hoops, skate board or climb a tight rope…you will want to be sure to sign your dog up for our Pet Star Contest which will take place on the side stage at 2pm. Contest entries will have the opportunity to show their stuff and win great prizes plus the title of Woofstock Pet Star 2008! To participate in the Pet Star Contest, entries must be submitted to syoder@hamiltonhumane.com with a brief description of your pet’s special talent. Entries are limited, so register now!

You can also help raise much needed funds for the homeless and unwanted animals of Hamilton County by collecting pledges for the walk. Whether you walk as an individual, a corporate team, or a group, you can make a significant difference in the lives of the animals who depend on us. Awards will be given to the Top Individual and Top Corporate Team/Group Fundraisers. More information on organizing teams, individual fundraising tips and the pledge form can be downloaded from the HSHC website at www.hamiltonhumane.com.

So mix, mingle (and sniff) the afternoon away visiting a variety of vendors and exhibitors, listening to live music, and spending quality time with your family and canines. Bring some spending money as Woofstock t-shirts will be on sale, pet photos will be available, and the Humane Society will be offering microchipping at their booth for just $30. Pets available for adoption will also be featured at the HSHC booth.

All attendees must have a ticket for admission. Ticket prices and all details regarding the event are available at www.hamiltonhumane.com. Tickets may be purchased at the Humane Society for Hamilton County, all Huntington Bank locations in Hamilton County, Moochie & Company, Pet Supplies Plus in Noblesville, Invisible Fence, Beverly’s Precious Pets Inn, Dog Dayz, For the Love of Dogs Bakery, and Lucky Dog Retreat.

All proceeds benefit the homeless, unwanted and abused animals of Hamilton County. Please contact Suzy Yoder at syoder@hamiltonhumane.com to register individual or corporate walking teams, sign your pet up for the Pet Star contest, or if you are interested in purchasing an exhibit booth at the event. The Humane Society for Hamilton County would like to thank our friends at VCA Animal Hospitals, Q95, Verizon Wireless Music Center, Lumina Foundation, Noblesville Daily Times, Dog Dayz, Invisible Fence, Pet Supplies Plus, Flanner & Buchanan, PetSuites and Indy Tails Pet Magazine for making this event possible.

The mission of the Humane Society for Hamilton County (HSHC) is to provide a compassionate and healthy environment for the homeless animals in our care until they
