Simons donate $20,000 to
the
Humane Society for Hamilton County
NOBLESVILLE, Ind., December 30, 2007 – The Humane Society
for Hamilton County would like to announce a $20,000 gift
donated by Melvin and Bren Simon. The donation will be used
to purchase rolling cat cages and medical supplies for the
shelter.
“This couldn’t have happened at a better time,” said
Rebecca Stevens, Executive Director for the Humane Society.
“We always have a large population of cats; however, the
number cats and kittens received this year has been a
serious challenge for the shelter. The record numbers have
left us hurting for enough cage space, so the new rolling
cages will be a tremendous help. The extra medical funding
will help all of the many wonderful pets in our care. We are
so grateful to the Simons for this generous contribution and
their support of the homeless animals of Hamilton County.”
The rolling cages will be enough to house up to 50 cats
in the following rooms; processing area, cat holding area
and display cages for the lobby. The medical supplies will
include antibiotics, vaccines, lab work and health testing
which will be used for both cats and dogs.

for the homeless animals in our care until they can be
