Humane Society for Hamilton County
Plans move into new $2.3 million shelter
Noblesville, Ind., Oct. 5, 2006 – Starting Monday,
October 16th, the HSHC will begin its
move to a brand new $2.3 million facility located at 1721
Pleasant Street. The move is
anticipated to take three days with the nearly 300 animals
currently housed at the
Cumberland Road location making their transition on Tuesday
and Wednesday of that week. The new facility, funded by
Hamilton County, will provide greater visibility and easier
access for those who want to adopt animals or drop by for a
visit. A spay & neuter clinic, operating independently from
the shelter, will be located inside the new facility as
well.
The HSHC is asking for the public’s help with the move.
If you are interested in providing
your time one day during the week of Oct. 16th to help
transport animals, unpack or clean, stop by the current
location at 18102 Cumberland Road and sign-up to volunteer.
The HSHC will be closed on the following
dates for packing and moving:
- Monday, October 9
- Friday, October 13
- Monday – Thursday, October 16-19
HSHC is urging those who are thinking about adopting a
pet to stop by the current location
on Cumberland Road on October 14th to take advantage of
reduced adoption pricing to help alleviate the need to move
so many animals to the new facility. Special adoption prices
are below:

The new facility, located at 1721 Pleasant Street located
next to the Hamilton County 4-H Fairgrounds and across the
street from the Noblesville Post Office, will open to the
public on Friday, October 20th. A grand opening and
fundraising event is scheduled for Thursday, November 2nd
from 6pm – 9pm. To purchase tickets stop by any Huntington
Bank in
Hamilton County or visit the HSHC. An open house celebration
with free admission will also take place on Saturday,
November 4th with special giveaways, refreshments and a
visit
from the Indianapolis ZooMobile.
The mission of the Humane Society for Hamilton County (HSHC)
is to provide a compassionate and healthy environment for
the homeless animals in our care until they can be placed
into permanent, loving homes. The HSHC strives to promote
responsible pet ownership and reduce the suffering caused by
pet overpopulation and animal cruelty by offering low cost
spay/neuter solutions and education.
