Maddie’s Fund announces
Humane Society for Hamilton
County a top winner in their national marketing competition
Noblesville, Ind., January 21, 2008 – The Humane Society
for Hamilton County (HSHC) has been named a top winner in a
national marketing contest hosted by Maddie’s Fund. The
winners were announced January 21st. HSHC competed among 195
rescue groups, traditional shelters, animal control agencies
and adoption guarantee shelters across the country.
Competing entries had to describe methods for re-homing
elderly, disfigured, blind, deaf, unattractive and shy pets
as well as dogs and cats with medical and behavioral
problems in the Maddie’s Fund/Petfinder.com marketing
competition.
The HSHC was awarded $15,000 as one of the nation’s top
prize winners for pioneering creative ideas on hard to place
dogs & cats. HSHC submitted their Huntington Survivor
Program which financially supports animals in need of
emergency medical care, PAWS Program (Partnering Animals
With Seniors) as well as submitting the hard to place
adoption success stories. Also submitted were media relation
efforts regarding the nine pit bulls that were abused and
abandoned in 2007 and the story on Fred the Beagle who was
shot in the leg.
