Presents 7th Annual “Home 4 the Holidays” Adoption Drive

Noblesville, Ind. -- The Humane Society for Hamilton County (HSHC) is pleased to announce the 7th Annual Home 4 the Holidays Adoption Drive currently underway through Jan. 6, 2006.

The goal of HSHC is to reach 250 adoptions of cats and dogs during this time period. The Home 4 the Holidays campaign will include several events throughout the holiday season. They are:

  • Nov. 27 – Family and Pet Pictures with Santa Claus during the Noblesville Tree Lighting at Santa’s House on the Square.. HSHC will offer pictures with Santa Claus from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Framed photos are $15 each and all proceeds benefit HSHC.
     
  • Dec. 3 – Family and Pet Pictures with Santa Claus will be available at Pet Product Superstores in Geist and Noblesville. Photos at the Geist store will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and the Noblesville store will be 3:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. Framed photos are $15 each and all proceeds benefit HSHC.
     
  • Dec. 10 – Home 4 the Holidays HSHC Adopt-A-Thon. Adoption hours at HSHC will be 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. with special promotional offers that day only. Refreshments, prizes and an Iams gift with adoption. B.B., the new HSHC mascot, will be present to greet guests.

“More families bring pets into their homes during the holidays than at any other time of year,” said Rebecca Stevens, executive director of HSHC. “What better gift could any of us give during the holiday season than a home to an orphaned animal.”

Home 4 the Holidays began in 1999 when Helen Woodward Animal Center organized 14 San Diego area shelters, finding homes for 2,563 orphaned pets. Each pet went home with a holiday meal of Iams food and a booklet of coupons redeemable at PETCO. In 2002, Home 4 the holidays grew to 1,200 shelters and rescues in 20 countries, completing 180,000 adoptions.
