Conseco and the Humane
Society for
Hamilton County Join Forces
To Help Senior Pets Find Senior Humans To Love
NOBLESVILLE, Ind., April 1, 2008 - Hamilton County’s
four-legged homeless seniors have found a friend with
Conseco.
A recent partnership between the Humane Society for
Hamilton County (HSHC) and Conseco will provide financial
support for the P.A.W.S. Program (Partnering Animals With
Seniors), an adoption program benefiting the senior citizens
and senior pets of Hamilton County.
“This is a very generous gesture on the part of Conseco,”
said Rebecca Stevens, executive director of the Humane
Society. “It’s more difficult to place our ‘senior’ dogs and
cats, so by offering seniors such a great deal on the
adoption fee for qualifying pets, we are able to find most
of our senior pets wonderful homes with equally wonderful
senior citizens in the community.”
“We are proud to be affiliated with Humane Society for
Hamilton County,” said Jim Rosensteele, Conseco’s senior
director, communications. “Conseco’s insurance products
provide peace of mind for America’s working families and
seniors. We hope this partnership encourages more seniors in
our home county to experience the sense of joy and wellbeing
that comes from pet ownership, while providing these animals
with a second chance at life they may not have had
otherwise.”
P.A.W.S. adoption fees are reduced to just $45 for
seniors at least 55 years of age who want to adopt a
“senior” Humane Society pet who is at least 5 years of age.
The reduced fee includes all of the same great benefits such
as the spay/neuter, microchip, vaccines, a free wellness
exam at a participating vet, and 30 days of free Pet Health
Insurance. Conseco’s financial contribution will help the
shelter cover the cost of providing such a significant
discount on the P.A.W.S. adoption fee.

The mission of the Humane Society for Hamilton County
(HSHC) is to provide a compassionate and healthy environment
for the homeless animals in our care until they
can be
placed into permanent, loving homes. The HSHC strives to
promote responsible pet ownership and reduce the suffering
caused by pet overpopulation and animal cruelty by offering
low cost spay/neuter solutions and education.
