Championship Chili Cookoff in
Conjuction with the NUMA Festival
Chili Cookoff Proceeds Benefit the Humane Society
for Hamilton County
NOBLESVILLE, Ind., August 29, 2008 – A statewide Chili
Cook-off will be held at 12pm on Saturday, Sept. 13th at the
Westfield Town Hall, 130 Penn St., Westfield, Indiana. This
year, Chili Appreciation Society International (CASI) joins
forces with NUMA bringing the first ever arts and cultural
festival to Westfield.
The NUMA festival is both Saturday and Sunday, September
13th and 14th and will feature a variety of artists, musical
and dance artists including local favorites David & Rae, a
car show and an interactive area for children.
Admission to the Chili Cookoff event is $5 admission to
sample all of the amazing chili and salsa featured by
attendees from all of the country. Each paid admission gets
five voting tickets for the People’s Choice Chili. The team
with the most votes from the public will win a trophy.
The event will feature a chili cook-off competition.
Categories will include;
- CASI Chili – must follow CASI rules
- Showmanship – best show teams, judged on; theme,
costumes, booth, action, appeal – no entry fee
- Salsa – must be made fresh on-site, no store bought
salsas.
- People’s Choice Chili – Anything goes. Public votes
- $10 entry fee—at least 3 gallons required.
- Police and Fire category – open to all policemen and
firemen, anything goes
- Junior category – open to our young cooks under 18
years of age.

All proceeds from the Chili Cookoff will benefit the
homeless and unwanted animals at the Humane Society for
