The Greg Biffle
Foundation and the Humane Society for Hamilton County join
forces to help homeless animals
NOBLESVILLE, Ind., August 1, 2006 – Join the Greg Biffle
Foundation this Friday, August 4th from 11:30 to 12:30 for
the NASCAR Pets fundraising event at the Indianapolis Motor
Speedway. The autograph session will be held in the Pagoda
Plaza.
Purchase a 2007 NASCAR Pets Calendar for $13.99 and the
first 200 fans in line will meet and have their calendars
autographed by NASCAR drivers Greg Biffle and Kenny Wallace.
The success of the 2006 calendar fundraising event allowed
the Humane Society for Hamilton County to purchase much
needed supplies for their shelter. “The dollars raised from
the 2006 event helped our shelter purchase much needed items
like bedding and medical supplies for our wonderful
animals,” said Rebecca Stevens, Executive Director for the
Humane Society.
This year, the Greg Biffle Foundation has also invited
the Indy Pit Crew, a not-for-profit organization that
strives to combat dog fighting, eliminate over-population,
and dispel damaging myths regarding the bully breeds, to
attend the event. “The Indy Pit Crew is doing an excellent
job educating the community about what an exceptional breed
and pet the American Pit Bull Terrier truly is,” said
Stevens. “Our shelter has so many wonderful Pit Bulls right
now that potential adopters pass by each day because of the
negative and inaccurate perception of them, so it seemed
like a natural fit to invite the Indy Pit Crew to join us
for the fundraiser.”
This year’s calendar has some returning veteran pet
calendar models such as Greg Biffle, Dale Earnhardt Jr.,
Matt Kenseth and Tony Stewart. The new faces of the 2007
calendar are Jeff Burton, Kyle Busch, Kasey Kahne, Jamie
McMurray, Kyle Petty, Reed Sorenson, Martin Truex Jr., and
Kenny Wallace.
The mission of the Humane Society for Hamilton County
(HSHC) is to provide a compassionate and healthy environment
for the homeless animals in our care until they can be
placed into permanent, loving homes. The HSHC strives to
promote responsible pet ownership and reduce the suffering
caused by pet overpopulation and animal cruelty by offering
low cost spay/neuter solutions and education.
The goal of The Greg Biffle Foundation for Animals is to
create awareness and serve as advocates to improve the
well-being of animals by engaging the power and passion of
the motorsports industry.
