The Story Behind
Trends for Tails
After retiring from the corporate world, Hamilton County resident Lisa Bednar Cook decided to use her business knowledge to start a virtual resale store named Kasey’s Kloset (named after her four-legged pal Kasey). As an animal lover and shelter supporter, Cook donated all proceeds from Kasey’s Kloset to HSHC for the first few months of operations.
Then Lisa had an even better idea — what if HSHC established its own resale shop where 100% of net proceeds benefited the animals? With a business proposal in hand and research proving how successful resale shops can be, Lisa sold us on the idea to mix our love of saving animals with saving money on great buys!
Lisa and HSHC then worked with Carolyn Harlow Deines, also an HSHC supporter and owner of Carolyn’s Consignments, to help HSHC establish the Trends for Tails Resale Shop inside the Noblesville Resale Shops (owned by Carolyn and her husband). The rest is history!
