The Humane
Society for Hamilton County is a private non-profit agency. We
do not receive funds from United Way nor are we affiliated
with any national animal welfare organization. As a result,
your generous donations are vital to us. We do contract for
services with various municipalities within Hamilton County
and with the county itself for the care and shelter of stray
animals.
There are
several ways you can contribute to help fulfill our mission
and improve the lives of the animals that depend solely on us.
Direct Gifts – cash, personal checks
or credit cards (MasterCard or VISA) are always welcome and
support our shelter operations. If you wish to designate your
gift, there are two specific funds you may choose:
- The
Moore-Life Fund enables us to provide extra care for animals
that arrive sick or injured and need immediate medical
attention.
- The Samantha Fund is used
to improve the quality of life for our animals as they wait
for their forever homes. This includes items such as comfy
fleeces and beds to lie on, toys and treats.
If you work
for a company that has a matching gifts program, your gift to
the Humane Society may have twice the impact! Please check
with your employer to see if the company will match your
donation.
Memorial Gifts – a donation made in
memory of a beloved person or pet is a thoughtful way to pay
tribute. When a memorial gift is received, we send a thank-you
card to the donor and an acknowledgment card to the family of
the deceased.
Gifts in Honor – a donation that
honors an animal lover for a birthday, anniversary or
graduation, or just to say “thanks,” is always welcome. When
an honorary gift is received, we send a thank-you card to the
donor and an acknowledgment card to the honoree.
Bequests – naming the Humane Society
as a beneficiary in your will helps to ensure that our
programs and services will continue for years to come. Please
see your lawyer or estate planner about making a gift that
will benefit your heirs as well as our animals.
Sponsorships – local businesses
and/or individuals are always invited to become sponsors of
such special events as our spring dinner and auction, Pet
Fest or Pet Photos with Santa. Each event offers
various financial levels and gives sponsors enhanced
visibility with animal lovers in our community and throughout
central Indiana.
In-Kind Gifts – items such as
towels, toys, leashes, pet carriers and even cleaning supplies
and paper goods are always greatly appreciated. Please check
our Wish List, available on this website or at the shelter, to
see which items are currently needed.
